MR and other types of medical imaging off an unparalleled view of the inner workings of the brain, and they are constantly improving. My research focuses on applying state of the art machine learning techniques to make maximal use of this type of data. My goals include diagnosing diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and autism; building descriptive models of how these diseases affect brain morphology; and exploring connections between brain shape descriptors and various other biomarkers, such as cognitive scores, genotype information, cerebro-spinal fluid assays, and many others. In addition, I am searching for new questions to ask within pure machine learning and computer vision, motivated by problems within computational neuroscience.
