My research is concentrated on characterizing the changes in stromal collagen of the breast associated with tumorigenesis, tumor growth and invasion. A major project has been the development of a software tool for measuring the angle of collagen fibers which has been implemented using a technique based on the curvelet transform. A second project is trying to determine if TACS (tumor associated collagen signatures - the aforementioned changes in stromal collagen) are detectable using elastotomography and ultrasound imaging by comparing the images generated though these methods to multiphoton microscopy SHG (second harmonic generation) images.
