The problem of learning models of gene regulation from sequence and expression data is a central problem in computational biology. Determining model structure from data is an especially difficult aspect of this problem. We plan to approach model structure determination through the use of a biomedical text mining module that will provide "hints" to the regulatory model learner based on evidence for or against various gene relations, states, or interactions found in the literature.
