Medical images contain a huge amount of data that is currently unused because it is difficult to compare to other medical images in a common spatial space. The goal of my research is to use computer algorithms to assimilate the data from medical images so that comparisons may be made. In particular, the ability to compare an individual scan to a common template allows one to identify abnormalities in shape and distinguish between groups.
