The molecular basis of cancer is complex, and knowledge and usage of new tools and techniques are required. Cell signaling via soluble factors plays a critical role in the regulation of cell behavior and the way we treat disease.

Currently, my research projects consist of developing microfluidics co-culture platforms with a controllable micro-environment to study how soluble factor interactions between the mammary gland cell populations influence cell behavior in order to elucidate possible targets for breast cancer therapies. To do this efficiently, computational models will be developed to help relate experimental parameters to cell behavior in order to try to explain and predict behavioral trends.
