The leading challenge in personalized health is shifting towards the accelerating abundance of phenotypic information about an individual. There are many parallel efforts underway which generate such data: genomic data, user-directed information, automated collection, and Environmental and contextual data. Thus, methodologies must be developed that can organize this information for useful human consumption, provide for automated analysis, and flag anomalies that might require closer scrutiny. In concert with Professor Patricia Brennan, I am exploring methodologies that lead to effective cognitive support in aid of understanding automated phenotypic data collection as it relates to personalized health. My current focus is on the development of novel machine learning and data mining approaches.
